This is an Omega Speedsonic "Lobster", vintage tuning fork watch, from the 70s, stainless steel case & bracelet, Swiss made, with an Omega 1255 movement.
It's a big rare & eye catching wristwatch, with a high quality ultra high bit movement.
1974 Omega Speedsonic f300 Hz ref. ST 388.0800 is also known as Omega Lobster.
The SpeedSonic has a tuning fork movement.
Like the Bulova Accutron in the 60s, it was also developed and produced by Bulova and ticks on a very high frequency by using the vibrations (300 Hz) of the tuning fork.
Tuning forked watches are more accurate than a mechanical watch.
When the Quartz watches turned up, Omega stopped producing these kind of watches, so they were not very long in production. This makes these watches quite rare, and very collectible.
Omega also use this type of movements in the Constellation and Seamaster lines.
All our watches are covered by one year warranty.
